Books: How to Blog with Aplomb - 3 reviews

Source: Management Today
Date: November 2006

Blogwild! by Andy Wibbels (Nicholas Brealey £9.99)

If you want a concise guide on how to get a blog going, you should spend your money on this practical book. It's an A-to-Z outline, written in no-nonsense English, covering everything from why you should have a blog to how you can set one up. Take a look at the author's website, www.andywibbels.com, for a free 20-page introduction. Highly recommended. (Best of its kind.)

The Corporate Blogging Book by Debbie Weil

'A corporate blog that is boring or confusing is worse than none at all,' says Weil, an American marketer on a born-again blogging mission. Despite her promise to 'keep existential ramblings about blogging to a minimum', you won't be spared her terribly cheesy business-speak. But if you can grit your teeth and get past this, there's a surprisingly good book to be discovered here. Could be useful.

Naked Conversations by Robert Scobel and Shel Israel (Wiley £16.99)

'How blogs are changing the way businesses talk with customers' is the self-explanatory subtitle. If you've got some time on your hands and want to read a strategic analysis of what blogging can do for your business, this book is for you. It's written by Microsoft's chief blogger, so bear in mind that you'll be on the receiving end of a corporate blogging evangelist. Could be useful.
