It's all about keywords

LinkedIn is your online CV so ensure it includes the right keywords in order to really highlight your HR skill sets.

This will make you more visible to employers who may be searching for possible candidates online.

Get blogging

Blogging is big – find out who the best HR bloggers are and comment on their posts.

Better still, start your own at www.wordpress.com.

Get tweeting

Get social and be seen on Twitter.

There are lots of HR professionals already tweeting so follow them, engage with them and share blog posts and relevant HR news.

Be aware

Ensure your privacy settings on Facebook are tight. If a potential employer does check out your digital footprint, the last thing you need is a photo of you partying or an inappropriate comment on public view.

Join the conversation

Research relevant HR industry groups on LinkedIn and joins as many as possible – joining in the conversations and starting discussions will boost your online profile and give you real credibility.
